  Gedling PCT
As from the 1st October 2006, Gedling Primary Care Trust will be disestablished as an independent NHS Trust.
From this date the functions and responsibility of the former Gedling PCT will be assumed by the newly established Nottinghamshire County Teaching Primary Care Trust (tPCT).

  Gedling Village
Gedling village is all but now swallowed up in the great suburbia of Nottingham, in fact it is very difficult to separate Gedling village from the surrounding areas of Carlton, which also was a village, this, which also has joined the urban scrawl of Nottingham.
Gedling lies 4 miles north east of the city of Nottingham, and 3 miles East of Arnold at the bottom of the Mapperley Plains Ridge, geographically Gedling is in the middle of England, located only a mile or so from the River Trent, which the Vikings made good use of when visiting Nottingham.
This was mainly due to the new colliery being built on the outskirts of Gedling and Arnold.

The Rectors of Gedling were throughout this century men of substance and added greatly to the Vicarage - added indeed to such an extent that in the succeeding century it became quite uninhabitable.
The great event in the history of Gedling in the nineteenth century was the building of the All Hallows' School in 1814.
In these schools, Gedling children were taught the three R's, reading, writing and arithmetic; but it seems that Gedling did not show that enthusiasm for learning that was expected of it.

The Borough of Gedling (Electoral Arrangements) Order 1975, articles 5(1)(b) and 8 of the Nottinghamshire (District Boundaries) Order 1987 and articles 4(1)(b) and 4(2)(b) of the Nottinghamshire (District Boundaries) Order 1988 are hereby revoked.
The areas of the new borough and parish wards are demarcated on the map described in article 1(3).

 Gedling hits Hamilton past Elder
FAIRBORN — Adam Gedling hit a one-hopper into left field in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a tie and give Hamilton a 2-1 victory over Elder in the Division I regional semifinals Friday at Wright State.
Called for interference with Elder first baseman Eric Renzenbrink on an infield fly to open the sixth inning, Gedling could have been ejected, but the umpires decided against it.
Gedling then followed with the shot that was too tough for Elder third baseman Matt Kahny to handle.
