  Science Fair Projects - Lubawa
Between 1301 and 1326 a new castle was built of stone by the local bishop named Arnold.
In 1330 it was destroyed by an invasion of Lithuanian forces of Gedyminas, but was rebuilt.
The area was conquered by the Teutonic Order, but after the Battle of Grunwald in 1410 it was recaptured by Poland and in 1466 assigned to Royal Prussia.

 News from Poland - New Lithuanian PM makes his first foreign trip to Poland
Gedyminas Kirkilas has also met with House Speaker Marek Jurek to discuss bilateral relations.
Speaker Jurek told reporters the Lithuanian government has declared much good will in solving problems faced by the Polish minority in that country, particularly re-privatization issues in the Vilnius region which belonged to Poland before World War Two.
The Polish House Speaker also made note of the fact that Gedyminas Kirkilas has chosen Warsaw for his first foreign visit as Prime Minister.

Armoured trains were important for Lithuania in the war of 1919-20.
The German volunteer forces fought with Panzerzug 7, while Lithuania equipped its own armoured train Gedyminas in 1920, but this was captured by the Poles later that year.

In 1323, Lithuanian Great Prince Gedyminas mentioned this victory in his own privileges to Nowogrodek through the creation of a grant in Nowogrodek to the Franciscans, and in the following year, Pope John XXII sent monks to this new mission (see "The Treasure" by Danielowicz).
The fifth son in the succession of Gedyminas and the Russian Olga, Koryat, obtained the Principate of Nowogrodek in 1329 from his father as his share, and was crowned in Nowogrodek.
At his death, Theodore, second in succession, received the Principate for his son, who reigned there until 1352.
