Topic: Geek Fu

PomeRantz » Blog Archive » Fu
As in kung fu, or what is certainly one of the best names for a blog in the whole of the blogosphere, Geek Fu, or as one of my students put it recently, “Google Fu”.
The Urban Dictionary entry for fu is fairly predictable: short for f*** you, and variations on that theme.
No OED entry or etymology for “fu” would be complete without a tip of the ten-gallon hat to the inimitable Joe Bob Briggs, drive-in movie critic of Grapevine, Texas.

Last week's episode of Beauty and the Geek contained one such stupid moment which, at least in my mind, was magnified by the fact that a geek (who is supposed to be logical and in the case of this show, to a fault) made a huge error.
The geeks were tasked with getting as many phone numbers as they could from unsuspecting women in a public area.
In fact, in the footage that was shown, Chuck would pretty much already have the ladies in the act of writing their number down when he either hinted or just outright said he was gay.
