Geezer is noted as being one of the first bassists to use a Wah-wah pedal on his bass, as showcased at the beginning of N.I.B. which inspired many later bassists, such as Cliff Burton who cited him as an influence.
Butler quit the band in the middle of 1984, forming the Geezer Butler Band.
Butler was the inspiration for William Murderface, the bassist for Dethklok in the Cartoon Network show Metalocalypse.

The longtime bassist for the groundbreaking heavy metal outfit Black Sabbath, Terence "Geezer" Butler was born July 17, 1949, in Birmingham, England.
Butler again exited in mid-1984, forming the Geezer Butler Band before reuniting with Osbourne in 1987.
Butler re-joined Sabbath for 1992's Dehumanizer, but again quit the group two years later; after another fling with Osbourne, he formed G/Z/R, issuing Plastic Planet in 1995.

Comprising of Tony Iommi's awesome guitar riffs, Geezer Butlers strong bass guitar, Bill Wards thunder on the drummer's throne, and of course, the voice of Ozzy Osbourne.
Geezer had written a song called Black Sabbath, and the band adopted the name also.
And on November 15, 1992, Iommi, Butler, and Appice backed Ozzy Osbourne as part of what was billed as the singer's final live appearance.

Geezer, like before, joined together with a small group of unknown musicians, and once again came out with an excellent album.
Gzr (pronounced "Geezer") goes pure metal on songs like Pardon My Depression, goes into the world of acoustic guitars on I Believe, goes dark with Alone, goes nu-metal with Prisoner 103, and makes hardcore music with songs like Pseudocide.
Geezer Butler, it's the same band, and same members, so it isn't neccesary to have it be this.

In this interview, Geezer doesn’t appear to be overly concerned with the plight, but nevertheless, the bassist for this seminal group does appear to be as perplexed as everyone else with the omission.
Being an outsider though is nothing new to Butler or his band mates in Sabbath as they have constantly had to endure obstacles throughout their entire career—after all, Sabbath was at least partially founded on the dark possibility of doubt derived from people telling them that they couldn’t make it.
Always the consummate professional, expect Butler to be on the road with Sabbath this summer and on into the fall with possible GZR dates following.

I was a big fan of EVH in the 80's, but I feel Van Halen to be a generally boring band now (with the occasional exception).

The cover art for this album is supposed to represent the old Sabbath song "Hand of Doom".
Geezer on the Doctor Who connection in the song "Among the Cybermen": "yes, the lyrics were originally about the death of Dr. Who.
The original chorus was "Dr. Who lies dead among the Cybermen", about the final battle of Dr. Who, but was supposed to be symbolic of the end of childhood.

In1995, Terry "Geezer" Butler decided it was time to experiment with current hard music sounds.
Most people were asking for "The Geezer Album" and record shops would say, "We don't have an album by Geezer." Apparently, the record shops were calling TVT saying, "Where's the Geezer album?" They'd say, "We've already got it, it's g/z/r."
There was a lot of confusion over the whole thing, and so we simplified things and decided to go along with the record company.

I used Laney amps and Laney cabinets [mainly 4x12] in the early 70's; I gradually switched to various pre-amps going through Crown power amps and custom built JBL speaker cabinets.
