GenCon is the traditional paper gaming grand exhibition which has been going on for over 30 years in the Midwest, where gamers and game companies meet for all things gaming.
You could pick out attendees as they lumbered toward the convention center; dark leather satchels slung over their shoulders, fl trench coats, fl t-shirts and jeans and the tell tale signs of 'geek incoming' written in their gait.
We did however receive a wonderful CD filled with Screenshots from GenCon that day as well as some of their concept art.

GenCon, the annual gaming convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana, is the largest gathering of consumer hobby game enthusiasts on the planet.
One of the things I really like is that, for the younger kids who remind me so much of myself at that age, GenCon is a place where they can walk around for four days, do their thing, and not worry about getting beaten up.
One last thing to note about the GenCon crowd: They can be very, very funny in a self-aware way about whatever weird stuff they're into, and the geek tag that comes along with the gamer's life.

GenCon Indy commands an audience of more then 35,000 gamers each year - some looking to play trading card games, some miniatures, some electronic games and some simply to shop.
The idea of GenCon Indy is much more of the "male dressing up playing games" where here in SoCal I see so many more women, children and families.
On Saturday, the busiest day of the Con, Peter wore nothing more than a staff shirt and spent hours in line helping the general public get to where they needed to be - and you could see in the joy of his eyes that he was having fun.

 GameSpy: GenCon 2005
The name "GenCon" has been synonymous with gaming for over 35 years, ever since a group of tabletop wargaming fanatics starting meeting in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, for a couple of days of pushing metal miniatures and rolling unusually shaped dice.
Today, safely ensconced in its new home in the Indianapolis Convention Center, this year's GenCon is bigger than ever, with capacity crowds converging on the American Midwest for four days of LARPing, filking, costume competitions, and the brutal slaughter of thousands of imaginary monsters.
As a result, GenCon has been growing in importance for the last several years as a venue to get its wares in front of the people most likely to get excited and spread the word about the latest CRPGs and MMOs.
