	DVD: Akira: Signature Series (Geneon)
		Geneon's fourth region 1 DVD of the title, fifth if one counts the tin set, is really a more budget oriented release for the classic animated movie than anything else.
		Geneon has done a wonderful job restoring Akira as it has never looked better than on this release, or the numerous other discs that the have been issued that utilize the same transfer.
		Overall, the only complaints to be had is that there is a hint of edge enhancement with some noticeable haloing, and that some faint grain is apparent, which is always much easier to spot on animated films.

		Saw the announcement on the Right Stuf's main page, that Geneon has just pulled a surprise announcement of getting the rights to Girls Bravo (a story about a guy whisked away to a Planet of Women), which will begin distribution early this summer.
		You know, Geneon's really giving ADV a run for it's fanservice money, what with titles like Mahoromatic, Popotan, Hanaukyo Maids, and now the title which caused a furor from its creators due to the TV station giving it its own reverse "wardrobe malfuction".
		Maybe Geneon is looking at the massive amount of success that ADV has been enjoying as of late, and thought, "Gee, maybe we should do more fanservice titles!" If that's the case, then they just haven't realized that ADV's current success is because they've expanded their line well beyond fan service titles.

		I saw these Dvds on Amazon before (search for Sailor Moon Movie and you'll see them) but they look exactly like the original movies except that they have a red Geneon thing at the top.
		Geneon is the company Pioneer, with a name change.
		I'm not postitive in this case, but Pioneer/Geneon has been releasing what they call their "signature" collection, which is all of the really good anime they have.
