General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GARBC) - one of several Baptist groups in North America retaining the name "Regular Baptist".
The impact of modernism on the Northern Baptist Convention (now called American Baptist Churches in the USA) led to the eventual withdrawal of a number of conservative and fundamentalist churches.
The General Association of Regular Baptist Churches was formed in 1932 in Chicago, Illinois in what would be the last meeting of the BBU and the first of the GARBC.

The Fundamental Fellowship was organized in 1920 as the National Federation of Fundamentalists of the Northern Baptists, during the fundamentalist/modernist controversy in the Northern Baptist Convention (NBC).
While more militant fundamentalists withdrew from the NBC in 1932 to form the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches, members of the Fellowship labored within the Convention and sought reform.
In 1946 the Fundamentalist Fellowship changed its name to Conservative Baptist Fellowship, and was instrumental in organizing the Conservative Baptist Association of America in 1947 and the Conservative Baptist Home Mission Society in 1948.

GARBC began support of Baptist missions in 1935; the Council of Eighteen was instituted in 1938 to coordinate Association affairs; official endorsement of schools began in 1940 (now called "partnering" schools); and the Regular Baptist Press was started in 1951 (now distributing literature in 107 countries).
Jennings' general acceptance and teaching of Freudian psychological concepts, her favorable references to Eastern religious techniques and concepts, her apparent sell-out to the false gospel of self-love/self-esteem, and her encouragement in the use of various occultic techniques (e.g., self-talk therapy and visualization) were deplorable.
This is all sadly indicative of the GARBC's downward spiral to New Evangelicalism.

The goal of committing the Convention to a doctrinal confes­sion, reversing the inclusive policy in missions and overcoming liberalism in the schools was thwarted by parliamentary moves and lack of resolve on the part of some of the fundamentalist leaders.
Historically, the general associa­tion of Regular Baptist Churches has opposed New Evangelicalism and ecumenical evangelism and could not unite with the CBA, because of their weaker position on separation.
The same church issued a call (while I was its Pastor) for a meeting October 22, 1965 to con­sider the formation of a new National Association of Separatist Baptist Churches (The New Testament Association of Baptist Churches).
