Mumbai is the seat of the Bombay High Court, which exercises jurisdiction over the states of Maharashtra and Goa, and the Union Territories of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
Built in 1833, the Asiatic Society of Bombay is the oldest public library in the city.
This is followed by either a general degree course in a chosen field of study, or a professional degree course, such as law, engineering, medicine etc. All professional colleges in Mumbai are affiliated to the University of Mumbai, one of the largest universities in the world in terms of graduation rate.

Liberal MP At the January 1910 general election Lees-Smith was elected as a Liberal for the two-member Northampton constituency.
Unfortunately for Lees-Smith, the Conservatives stood down in the 1923 general election and he was defeated by the Liberal candidate; this defeat prevented him from being appointed as a Minister in the first Labour government.
When Labour returned to office in 1929 he was made Postmaster-General where he defended the nationalised Post Office and tried to smarten up the Post Office counters.

Generally the reason for code switching is because of the vocabulary.

 Architectural Style
It was in the last decade of the 19th century that Bombay witnessed a phase of experimentation in architecture.
This synthesis of forms such as the horseshoe shaped arches from Moorish Spain, Islamic domes and Victorian towers came to be known as the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture.
Initiated in Bombay by John Begg (1866-1937) who was the Consulting Architect to the Government of Bombay and first seen in Bombay in the architecture of the General Post Office Building, the Indo-Saracenic style became the paradigm for British Architecture in this country.
