	General Synod XXV: Proposed changes to the Bylaws (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
		The bylaws state that changes to the bylaws may be proposed by an Association, a Conference, the General Synod, or the Executive Council.
		The Office of General Ministries made this decision based on two factors, one was cost and the other was because much of the work of this ministry relates to the Executive Council.
		The management of this area is assigned to the Office of General Ministries with a policy and oversight board comprised of board members of the Office of General Ministries and users from 700 Prospect.

	General Synod 1995 of the Canadian Reformed Churches
		Although General Synod 1986 neither proved that there was an established procedure for admitting churches into the federation nor that the Church Order requires "concurring" advice, the fact that such a procedure has been adopted and implemented by the churches in Regional Synod East must be given serious consideration.

	Minutes of the Seventh General Synod
		The Synod instruct the Presbyteries to endeavor to secure regular attendance of their ministers and representative elders at all stated meetings of Presbytery; and that the Presbyteries encourage this by the calling of their meetings at such a time as would aid the members' attendance.

		Synod's Special Committee on Worship reported excellent progress in its revision of the Book of Worship and asked for an extension of its work for one year prior to presenting its proposed revision of the Book of Worship to General Synod 2006, to be overtured to Presbyteries.

	Scarsdale Congregational Church - UCC General Synod 22 Business Proceedings
		Tensions were obvious during debates on the relative roles of local churches, associations, conferences, and the national bodies, as well as when delegates sought to design structures for a multiracial, multicultural church, accessible to all, while still being representative of a church of mostly white, mostly able-bodied persons.
		Though women were clearly in strong leadership positions in General Synod 22, fear was expressed that the role of women and attention to issues of particular interest to women might be diminished in the future.

		I was pleased that the resolution supporting the sovereignty of Jesus Christ and the continuing use of the cross and crown logo was endorsed by the delegates.
		I believe the action of Synod is an important positive voice in response to the many others speaking with prejudice and hatred toward our gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trasnsgendered sisters and brothers.

	MINUTES OF THE EIGHTH GENERAL SYNOD
		Edwards reported on the condition of the Synod's treasury and suggested that the office be discontinued, its functions to be cared for by the National Missions Committee.
		By another motion, the treasurer of the Synod was authorized to borrow sufficient funds from the National Missions Committee to enable the treasury to meet the expenses of this Synod and have a balance remaining of $200.
