	Scifilm -- Reviews, BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES (1970)
		They overhear the speech campaign of one General Ursus (James Gregory), who wants the Apes to invade the Forbidden Zone, conquer it, and use it as a potential food source, as they are now apparently facing famine in their own territories.
		Of course this film comes in a boxed set with the other four films and the excellent documentary film "Behind the Planet of the Apes" (which I mentioned in my PLANET OF THE APES review), where one can learn in what other film the sets for the mutant headquarters first appeared.
		This movie starts off where PLANET OF THE APES ended with Taylor and Nova on horseback investigating the mysterious Forbidden Zone.

		The taunt pack was created from the original movie sound track with the apes hunting horn and Ursus's memorable line "The only good human is a dead human." Download Ursus and round up a fresh pack of slaves for you AvP.
		When I heard Tim Burton was remaking the classic "Planet of the Apes" film, it just seemed natural to recreate the preds hulking frame as a gorilla.

	POTA Mego General Ursus- The Mego Museum
		The Mego General Ursus figure is named after the character in Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
		Since Ursus was not part of the TV show, a correction was made and a second card was issued with an asterix next to Ursus's name, creditting the character to Apjac Productions Inc. and Twentieth Century with all the rest of the characters still creditted to only Twentieth Century.
		Mego Ursus was later released in his own outfit, similar to the Urko top, with attached cuffs in place of gloves.

	Mego Planet of the Apes
		Throughout these pages you will see the First General (with the Helmet Head) referred to as Ursus, and the Second General (without the helmet) referred to as Urko, but unfortunately, in the world of REAL collecting, the names are interchangable.
		The line was based on the first Planet of the Apes film, starring Charlton Heston, but was not released until 1974 in order to capitalize on the new movie-inspired television series.
		This fact is astounding considering how long it has been since there have been any new Planet of the Apes related movies or television programs and how many great action figures Mego made during its history.
