Intervals - Wiki Guitar   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
In diatonic or tonal theory intervals are labelled according to their diatonic function and according to the number of members or degrees they span in a diatonic scale.
Intervals are often abbreviated with a P for perfect, m for minor, M for major, d for diminished, A for augmented, followed by the diatonic interval number.
The inversion of a major interval is a minor interval (and vice versa); the inversion of a perfect interval is also perfect; the inversion of an augmented interval is a diminished interval (and vice versa); and the inversion of a double augmented interval is a double diminished interval (and vice versa).

Interval (music) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
David Cope (1997, p.40-41) suggests the concept of interval strength, in which an interval's strength, consonance, or stability is determined by its approximation to a lower and stronger, or higher and weaker, position in the harmonic series.
For intervals identified by ratio, the inversion is determined by reversing the ratio and multiplying by 2.
Interval cycles, "unfold a single recurrent interval in a series that closes with a return to the initial pitch class", and are notated by George Perle using the letter "C", for cycle, with an interval class integer to distinguish the interval.

 f95 Interval Reference
intervals are motivated by the requirement to produce the narrowest interval that is guaranteed to contain the set of all possible point results.
Results for general set (or interval) inputs are the union of the results of the single-point results as they range over the input sets (or intervals).
The interval hull is the smallest interval that contains all the elements of the operand intervals.

Generic interval - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In diatonic set theory a generic interval is the number of scale steps between notes of a collection or scale.
The largest generic interval is one less than the number of scale members.
In the diatonic collection the generic interval is one less than the corresponding diatonic interval:

Generic products are less expensive because they do not require lengthy clinical trials to prove their safety and effectiveness and because they are infrequently marketed to physicians and consumers.
Generics are allowed into the market as a means of encouraging competition, lower prices and innovation within the industry.
Generic drugs are bioequivalent to their brand-name twins, and because generics tend to be older, they are generally less risky than new drug therapies.

In general, data seeking is a relatively inefficient way of obtaining the value of a variable, particularly if G2 seeks values very frequently.
In general, you should not embed in subobjects variables that obtain their values from external data sources.
If you want your G2 application to see and process all data points that your external process generates, set the priority of the rule that references the external variable to be a higher priority than the priority of data service.

 Music Theory for Computer Applications
Perfect intervals employ tones which are closely related in the overtone series.  They occur in all known repertories.
Every interval has a complement which, when added to it, fills an octave.  The three variables of interval classification—size in half-steps, letter names, and inflection (sharp, flat, or natural)—are all required to spell the names of intervals and their complements in such a way as to show this effect.
Triads (chords containing three tones) are classified by the outer interval that they fill  (typically a fifth) and the intervals formed between the outer tones and the middle one.

By a simple transformation, region intervals may be regarded as rectangles in two-dimensional space, allowing LAPIS to draw on earlier research in computational geometry to find a data structure suitable for storing and combining collections of region intervals.
The rectangle collections generated by text constraints are not particularly random, however; they tend to be distributed linearly along some dimension of region space, such as the 45-degree line, the x-axis, or the y-axis.
