One of the most significant auto shows on the international scene is taking place across the pond in Geneva, Switzerland.
Its an auto show that typically sees its fair share of high-end model launches, and this year is no exception with such names as the BMW CS1 concept, the Volkswagen Phaeton, and the Mercedes CLK.
In other Nissan Europe news related to the Geneva show, president Carlos Ghosn announced during a press conference that Nissan is reducing it’s previous estimates for capturing 5% of the European market share by 2005.

Yesterday as the show headed into the late afternoon, US auto executives were seen to reach for their BlackBerry communication devices like gunslingers from the Ol' West.
This year's show is a stand-out and I'd really like to catch it all but with no break between the 40 conferences that run from 8am through 6pm this is not possible.
The designers showed us their view from the roof of their building - and you can seen Nice, Antibes and Cannes, the crystal blue of the Med and the snowy mountains of the Alps, all are within a short drive from their headquarters.

Ital Design shows this seductive Ferrari V8 powered Alfa Romeo Brera as a proposal for the type of car the brand might produce if it wanted to move upwards as other premium sports brands have.
It would be an ambassador for the brand, whose effect would be to move the perception of the brand further upmarket (perhaps onto a more level footing with the likes of BMW) and thus increase sales of the better specified GTVs, 166s, 156s and 147s.
With Alfa Romeo likely to be split from the Fiat Auto group, the conflict of this product type with Maserati would not be an issue and the benefits and resources needed to move the brand up market might make this concept a logical and realisable possibility.
