Genii (Stargate) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Genii are a human culture from the TV series Stargate Atlantis living in the Pegasus Galaxy.
The Genii and the Atlantis expedition team were briefly allies, going on an offworld mission to steal valuable intelligence from a Wraith hive ship, but the Genii betrayed the team and tried to steal their C-4 explosives, which they believed could help their triggering problems, as well as a Puddle Jumper spaceship.
A few encounters with the Genii have been peaceful; for example, in an episode an agreement that in exchange for C4 the Atlanteans could use the Genii prototype nuclear weapons to defend Atlantis from an imminent Wraith attack.

Underground (Stargate Atlantis) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Genii seem to be a simple Amish community and Teyla Emmagan has known them as such through previous trade deals with the Genii.
After being stripped of their weapons Cowen (one of the Genii who they had been negotiating trade with) appears and tells them usually he would kill people who stumbled on to there secret but the Genii were wanting the C-4 explosives from the Atlantis team.
The Genii inform them that they are planning to finish their atomic bomb by the time of the next Wraith culling.

 The Truth Behind StarGate: G
There are three classes of Genii: the Ghul (treacherous shape-shifters; lives in graveyards and is a personification of the terror of the desert), the ‘Ifrit (ruthless, enormous winged creature of smoke; lives underground and frequents ruins), and the Si’la (female spirits of constant form).
Genii usually live in inanimate objects, such as stones, trees, or ruins, or live within the earth, in the air, or in fire.
On the way back to the village from the Stargate, Sheppard and McKay get lost and come across a barn, in which they find a (somewhat poorly) hidden hatch door (the Wraith must be allergic to straw!).

Though the Genii have traded for years with Teyla's people, the Athosians, they are wary of Sheppard and the others.
Teyla and Ford remain behind for the Genii's "harvest ceremony" while Sheppard and McKay fly their puddle jumper through the stargate back to Atlantis, where Weir reluctantly approves Sheppard's request to form a pact with the Genii.
McKay has, by now, figured out that the Genii are working on a nuclear bomb with which to counterattack the Wraith, and that they need the Atlantis team's C-4 to complete their atomic trigger.

Meanwhile, the Genii, led by Commander Acastus Kolya and including Sora (the pretty brat from "Underground" who blames Teyla for abandoning her father to the Wraith), launch an attack on Atlantis.
Genii reinforcements arrive through the stargate, but Sheppard manages to take out Ladon and get the shield up, killing over 50 Genii men who step through and splat against the shield.
As the Genii leave through the Stargate, Ford is convinced that something is wrong (since Teyla and Beckett haven't shown up to create the distraction), and so Sheppard improvises.

The Genii are back and of course cause more trouble, which turns out to be a quite enjoyable story and a really good episode.
At the end, they said that their secret was safe with the Genii and they wouldn't tell the Wraith, but they didn't say allies like we were going to see Genii start coming into Atlantis a lot, so what I got from it was that it's like a neutral relationship, but I'm not sure.

They dont need an enemy like the Genii to supply them with stuff when they have enough of their own and are looking for weapons to fight the Wraith, not spitballs.
If the Genii weapons are the calliber the appear to be {45 and up}, I would hardly call those spitballs.
The Genii weapons are clearly inferior to the Atlantis teams own, or they would have taken some by now.

Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn), Ben Browder (Cameron Mitchell (Stargate)) and Claudia Black (Vala Mal Doran) are the only other cast members who thus far have not appeared on the series; the last-named two's absence is probably due to their recent introductions as characters.

But I was under the impression that Atlantis only had six jumpers to start out, and it would only have been in the last few episodes (with the gain of several from the Tower and the loss of one in "Grace Under Pressure") that the number would've changed.
That's how McKay got it, and that's why the Genii were capturing gene-bearers to begin with: so they could devise a gene injection of their own.
I was surprised I got it as quickly as I did, but for some reason, the instant they showed the ZPM onscreen in literally in fl and white, I figured out it was dead and could see all the twists after that.

Normally, Sheppard and McKay would have been killed for discovering the Genii's secret - that they pretend to be primitive farmers to avert suspicion while they prepare to resist the next Wraith culling.
Though Sheppard has failed to make an ally of the Genii, the data they obtained device reveals valuable information: There are more than 60 Wraith hive ships, and possibly many others.

That being said it seems to me like it’s in the Genii's nature to be backstabbing and deceives so we should expect them to have some hidden agenda.
on one hand isuppose u cant realy blame the Genii for there ways, they have survived as long as they have by being carefull and trusting no one, the have suffered hundreds of generations at the hands of th wraith and this is the way they have survived.
I would imagine most people would be the same in such circumstances, knowing wier shes probably reluctant to attack knowing that they have to show they can be trusted and she probably knows that trust is not going to come easy.
