Gennady Gagulia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gennady (Genadi) Gagulia (born 1948) was the Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia, a de facto independent republic of Georgia, from 1995-97 and again from 2002-03.
During the Georgian-Abkhaz war in the early 1990s, Gagulia was a member of the Abkhazian Defense Committee, which was responsible for, among other things, the distribution of food, at a time when Abkhazian forces only controlled a section of the country.
In 2003, Gagulia's highly unpopular government was forced to resign, against the wishes of President Vladislav Ardzinba, amidst large protests from Abkhazia's two main opposition groups, Amtsakhara and Aitara (Revival).

Raul Khadjimba (born 1958) is the Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia, a de facto independent republic of the Republic of Georgia.
He had previously served as both deputy prime minister (2001-2002) and defence minister (2002-2003), before succeeding Gennady Gagulia as Prime Minister on April 22, 2003.
It had been suggested that Ardzinba may endorse previous Prime Minister Gennady Gagulia as candidate, which would hurt Khadjimba's chances, but this now seems unlikely, after Ardzinba sacked Gagulia as head of his presidential administration.

Anri Djergenia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On 29 November 2002, Djergenia was fired by President Ardzinba, reportedly due to his failure to ensure fulfillment of budget targets, and was replaced with former Prime Minister Gennady Gagulia.
This led to a shift in Abkhazian foreign policy, as Djergenia, while still steadfast on the question of independence, was much more open to negotiations than his successor.
Along with former Prime Ministers Gennady Gagulia and Sergei Bagapsh, reports suggested that Djergenia may make a political comeback at the October 2004 elections.

Amtsakhara had lashed out at Gagulia for being inefficient and weak on crime, and public anger had boiled over at the association's congress.

No other candidates have been named, and there is speculation that the president may revisit the previous cabinet line-up and ask Gagulia to form a new government.
