We have had the privilege to meet a sampling of folks from this church and have found true disciples of Christ in their Godly example of living scripture.
As with all of the wonderful volunteers who come to Gennesaret to serve the Lord, they are full of joy and Godly vigor.
We at Gennesaret are very optimistic of our future in Akron, Ohio.

The Plain of Gennesaret is a fertile, crescent-shaped plain on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee.
The Plain of Gennesaret is clearly visible from the Sower’s Cove, where Jesus told the parable of the sower.
Of all the areas surrounding the Sea of Galilee, this small plain was the most fertile, giving rise to the possibility that Jesus may have been referring to it as an example of the "good soil" in His parable (Matt 13:3-8; Mark 4:3-9; Luke 8:5-8).

The surrounding mountains closely invested it, though opening in some places, in one to admit the fruitful and well-watered plain of Gennesaret, in another the plain of Baṭiḥah, on the northern side.
The Lake of Gennesaret having fallen to the lot of Naphtali, Joshua imposed on that tribe the obligation of letting every one fish there with a fishing-rod who so desired (B. 81a).
The valley washed by the lake is called "the valley of Gennesaret" ("biḳ'at Genusar"), and is renowned for its fertility.

Gennesaret - the plain of Galilee, some 4 miles wide at the lake's western shore -was especially the "garden" of Galilee, and Josephus called it "the ambition of nature".The word means garden of riches.
Not only in fishing and agriculture were the lakeside and uplands rich in possibilities, but merchant routes led travellers by way of the lake to varied destinations.
The pronunciation of Gennesaret is supposed to be a corruption of Chinnereth..

Gennesaret was a fertile district, in which were situated the cities of Tiberias and Capernaum, extending along the western shore of the lake to which it gave name, about 30 stadia, or nearly four miles, in length, and twenty stadia, or two miles and a half, in breadth, according to Josephus.
