		Gensho Hasegawa was born in 1876 in Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo, the son of Genetsu and Taki Seki Hasegawa.
		He and his brother, Dr. Chinami Hasegawa of Honolulu, were the fourth generation in the family to follow the medical profession.
		Hasegawa died in Chiba in 1965 at the age of 89.
