In the binomial nomenclature used worldwide, the name of an organism is composed of two parts: its genus name (always capitalized) and a species modifier (known as the "epithet").
A genus in one kingdom is allowed to bear a name that is in use as a genus name or other taxon name in another kingdom.
This explains why the platypus genus is named Ornithorhynchus — it was indeed given the name Platypus, by George Shaw in 1799, but by then that name had already been given to the pinhole borer beetle by Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Herbst in 1793.

In biology, a genus (plural genera) is a grouping in the classification of living organisms having one or more related and morphologically similar species.
The type genus of a taxon is usually the first Genus to be named and described.
For instance, Anura is a Genus of plants as well as the order of frogs; Aotus is both a pea and a monkey; Oenanthe and Oenanthe are genera of birds and plants respectively, as are Prunella and Prunella.

Genus (music) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In ancient Greek music theory, a genus is a family of divisions of the tetrachord (four notes spanning a perfect fourth) used to create musical scales.
The diatonic genus has a characteristic interval of a major second, the chromatic genus has a minor third, and the enharmonic genus has a major third.
Alternating conjunct and disjunct tetrachords form a scale that repeats in octaves (as in the familiar diatonic scale, created in such a manner from the diatonic genus), but this was not the only arrangement.

Franco Fabbri | Browsing Music Spaces - Categories and the Musical Mind (1999)
In music, genres emerge as names to define similarities, recurrences that members of a community made pertinent to identify musical events: the process can be explicit, like in the proclamation of an aesthetic manifesto, a law, or a marketing campaign, or it can never be declared (see Lewis 1969).
Musical codes are in this space, but this doesn’t mean that style be a subset of genre, or anywhere lower in a hierarchy of musical categories: or, if it is so, it’s in the sense of a subordinate category compared to a basic-level category, that is at a level where more specific information is articulated.
Common musical competence sees ‘classical’ as a predicate for all Western art music, while the notion of a classic age and style is elaborated at the level of the molar content, and pertains to specialists’ taxonomies.

All the old issues about the music making the game or the game making the music are relevant and will have to be answered for each score as it arises.
The tonal music has a rather unnatural shallow processed sound (this is the OST for the game) on my hifi.
The music itself has a pretty quick pulse and the first three tracks are raucous, hectic and hectoring with a dash of Herrmann in insistent slightly manic North by North West mode.

To try and place Craig Wedren in any one style of music over the years would be a waste of time — he isn't defined by any single sound or instrument; rather, his voice and composing have carried him across spectrums of the music universe.
Over the last few years their music has transformed from a sloppy, drunken, hoorah of a party to a well-rehearsed and tight — albeit still drunken — explosion of energy.
