Geoff Bent - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Geoffrey Bent was one of the eight Manchester United players that lost their lives in the Munich air disaster on February 6, 1958.
He was born in Salford, Lancashire, 27 September 1932, and joined United on leaving school in the summer of 1948.
He didn't play any first-team games during the 1957-58 season, and only travelled to Belgrade as cover for Roger Byrne - who was doubtful for the match due to injury, but played against all the odds.

Geoff in fact knew precisely what was going on, though he was miles away sitting in the big leather chair in his Mom's therapist's office, squirming in mortified embarrassment as his Mother described what she had heard, and then talked about Geoff and Ron, and all the time they spent together.
Geoff was therefore taken completely aback when his Mikey, after changing to a new piano teacher, fell madly in love with the youngish man, and thus the fluid lovelines of adolescence formed new patterns.
Geoff was not far behind him, at five-eight and one-twenty, his boy-blonde hair darkening to light brown with golden highlights, his voice mellowed into a wonderful tenor, his body firm and beginning to fill out.

His attitude toward Geoff, for instance, the man who stole his wife, is 'I don't feel like I lost a wife, more like I gained a friend'.
Launched as a series of ten-minute fl-comedy monologues, Marion And Geoff arrived without fanfare but was quickly noticed, thanks to the precision of the writing and the sublime performance of Rob Brydon as Keith, a character he had first played at drama college in Wales.
Life had moved on for Keith: he was now the peak-capped chauffeur for an American couple, spending most of his time ferrying around their son Fisher, who - although never seen on screen - is evidently a nasty piece of work, torturing Keith with his superiority, ensuring that he understands his menial position.
