		Geoffrey Downes (born August 25, 1952 in Stockport, Cheshire, England) is a rock keyboard player.
		Downes subsequently joined forces with Yes' Steve Howe, Carl Palmer (from ELP) and John Wetton (from King Crimson) to form Asia in 1981.
		Ride the Tiger was a project involving Downes and Greg Lake.

		Geoff Downes first became widely known as half of The Buggles, a band he had founded in 1979 with Trevor Horn.
		Downes has remained the one constant member, which continues to tour and record in sporadic fits and starts.
		During a period of inactivity with Asia, Geoff Downes participated in another Asia-style (but extremely short-lived) "supergroup", again with Steve Howe but also featuring ex-Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett.

		Back in 1986, renowned keyboard wizard Geoff Downes formed The New Dance Orchestra in order to perform an alternative form of music in an attempt to bring tone and colour to the stereo sound spectrum, but at the same time keeping its musical foundations.
		This album is the fruits of a collaboration, in June 1991, between Geoff Downes and ex-Trapeze/Deep Purple vocalist Glenn Hughes.
		Geoff describes the album as a "travelogue of music",with the blend of classic and rock keyboard styles creating sound scapes of distant lands and cultures.

		Aside from Geoff Downes contribution to Asia he also finds time to record and release occasional solo albums.
		The music is of an ambient feel and whilst, as Geoff explains on the sleeve notes, there are a few mistakes contained in the pieces he felt it better to retain the mistakes rather than disturb the overall feel.
		Shadows And Reflections then is one for the staunch Geoff Downes fan but a pleasing album nevertheless and one that will I'm sure find favour with the faithful.
