  Tiger Army - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
During the ensuing California mini-tour promoting the album, Nick 13 asked Geoff Kresge, one of his former bandmates from his first band, Influence 13, to play stand-up bass with them.
Kresge accepted, and joined as a permanent member a few months later.
Only months later, in September 2004, Geoff Kresge departed the band to focus his efforts on his new record label, Dead Body Wreckerds.

Geoff Kresge has joined the HorrorPops as their new guitarist, following the recent departure of Karsten.
Kresge most recently played upright bass in Tiger Army from a period spanning 1998 to 2004.
Of course both HorrorPops and Tiger Army are psychobilly acts signed to Hellcat Records, so it goes unsaid that Geoff and his new bandmates share a past history and friendships.

Geoff Kresge is a former bass player for A.F.I., and even beyond that, Geoff Kresge has his own record label, produced records for other bands, and has even been working on a tape for Kingston Double Basses for an instructional video.
Geoff Kresge has appeared on the Fantastic Tiger Army Album "Tiger Army II: The Power of Moonlite" and lended his bass work to the newest Tiger Army Effort; "Tiger Army III: Ghost Tigers Rise".
KRESGE: As far as playing upright, I would have to say it's Fred Hell, because he has a good understanding of where his drums should be in the balance between bass and drums.

Their second album, Very Proud of Ya, was released in 1996 by the Nitro Label, after which their bassist Geoff Kresge decided to leave the group for personal reasons.
Hunter, who replaced Geoff (who went on to join Tiger Army but is now in the Horrorpops), is from Grass Valley in Northern California.

Before putting the CD into my stereo, I was still feeling slightly miffed that Geoff Kresge dare play bass instead of Hunter, and I was worried that it would bring about an ill reaction to this album in general.
It seems too brazen; kids who get picked on in highschool shouldn't turn around and start generalizing about people outside their own social group, so Geoff assumptions that all high school football heroes want to "drink [their] weight in beer-o" is just...a little problematic for me. And, as just shown, the lyrics are somewhat lacking.

[laughter from all] Geoff Kresge played bass-- he learned stand-up about 3 years ago and has played all the recent Tiger Army shows-- a guy named Jolson was the drummer and a guy named Jevon was the singer for most of the time, I took over on vocals at the end.
We did shows around California with Geoff Kresge on stand-up and the mighty Joe Fish from Santa Cruz shortly after the record came out and those went great.
Geoff will also be relocating to L.A. Joe is Nor Cal based, so we've got a new drummer down there, but Joe is Tiger Army Por Vida as well (laughs).

Geoff is a good bassist, more frantic than Hunter, but it took me a while to settle into his style.
Soap-Box Derby is another sing-songy piece (this one is Mark's tune) snidely pushing away a clinging person who's "not happy unless you're unhappy." Davey makes it very clear that he's "not angry...just amused", though he contradicts himself as he screams "give me an effing break" (without the "eff", of course).
Geoff is good at what he does...just not as good as Hunter.

Geoff Kresge (ex-AFI) played stand-up, which he's been playing for about 3 years now and has gotten quite good at, and a guy named Joe Fish played drums.
Geoff and I will hopefully be playing again soon.
That was with Geoff Kresge and Jay Puget who is currently in AFI.

As you've just read or may have heard, Geoff Kresge has left the band.
Geoff was the third stand-up player the band's had, and I can't begin to count the number of drummers we've played with, although most of them were friends helping out rather than actual band members.
There aren't too many people around who could step into Geoff's shoes, but Jeff is one of them.

Between songs, folks called out from the sweaty sea of bodies swaying like kelp during a storm, "Don't break up!" But Spencer Moody and crew offered no response or explanation as to why the band is calling it quits just when everything seems to be going right, and they closed the show without an encore.
Someone should tell band mates Nick 13 and Geoff Kresge of the psychobilly trio Tiger Army that if the music thing should ever fail, the military would surely accept them into the special forces.
With that in mind, the towering Geoff Kresge practically upstaged Nick 13 as he rampaged about the stage with his bass, furiously plucking away at the thick strings all the while.

Geoff is a great guy and I am glad he found a solid working band that he is friends with (on the same label even) that will challenge him.
I thought Geoff had left Tiger Army to focus on Dead Body Wreckerds, so either he only chose to join Horrorpops because it's a bit of a side thing, or he just didn't like Nick 13.

It had been a year since Tiger Army released their first album on Hellcat and did alot of touring and even made some changes to their lineup.
Tiger Army was now Nick 13 on Vocals and Guitar and Geoff Kresge formerly of AFI on Stand Up Bass and Backup Vocals and London May formely of Samhain on Drums.
I was very excited to hear that they were in the studio recording this album and was anxious to hear how songs sounded.

Dark, melodic and aggressive, the songs were a hybrid of modern psychobilly, hardcore punk and 1950's rockabilly-rock'n'roll that the band simply dubbed "American Psychobilly." After the first album's release, Nick 13 joined forces with longtime friend Geoff Kresge (stand-up bass).
Shortly thereafter, Geoff moved to Tiger Army's new home of Los Angeles where he became a permanent member.
