Rush reprised his character's voice for the enhancements at the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom theme parks, which involved an Audio-Animatronic with Rush's likeness being installed.

Born in Toowoomba in Australia's Queensland district, Rush had a very famous roommate while going to college -- Mel Gibson (Gibson was actually born in Peekskill, New York, but moved to Australia with his family when he was 12).
It was the movie Shine (1996) that brought Rush to a mass audience when he played musical genius David Helfgott who cracks under the strain of his talent and ends up spending 15 years confined to psychiatric hospitals before being rescued by the love of a good woman (played by Lynn Redgrave in the film).
In 2005, Rush won a second Golden Globe, as well as his first Emmy award, this time for portraying the late, great comedic actor Peter Sellers in the TV movie The Life and Death of Peter Sellers.

Geoffrey Rush was born in Toowoomba, Queensland on July 6th, 1951, to an accountant father and shop assistant mother.
After school, Rush took an arts degree at the University of Queensland (the institution years later awarded him an Honorary Doctorate of Letters) where, acting in a revue in 1971, he was spotted and recruited by the Queensland Theatre Company.
Here Geoffrey played the husband of psychiatrist Barbara Hershey, traumatised by the death of their daughter and so twisted by self-loathing he can only incriminate himself when Hershey herself is murdered.

Before I watched this movie yesterday, I knew this was Geoffrey Rush's Oscar-winning performance, that Joel Siegiel considered it to be one the greatest movies ever, and that it won plenty of trophies.
Geoffrey Rush is terrific in "Shine," but the movie could've better defined him.
Rush's acting was impeccable and very believable, which is why some might be a little agitated or confused at the stuttering and incomplete and rambling dialog by Rush's character.
