 Untitled1
Geoffrey Squires is perhaps the most idiosyncratic of the poets writing outside the Irish mainstream.
This new poetics, which Squires began to explore in Figures (1978) and XXI Poems (1980) and refined in A Long Poem in Three Sections (1983), is a poetics of perception, concerned not so much with the inner workings of language as with the play of consciousness in the world.
Squires, coming from a country where historical injustice is poetry's constant concern, turns away from history in order to affirm the realm of personal experience.

Squires hand the lances over, the riders signal ready by lifting their lance and wait for the Marshall's signal to lay on.
After the pass, one hands the lance to the arming squire who present it to the judge for scoring and rides back to his corner to get the next lance.
The organization will provide 2 Arming Squire in charge of handling lances exclusively, 2 Talking Squires in charge of Protocole in informing the knight with occuring events at the other end of the field and 2 Lists Squires in charge of removing all wood and steel pieces of the lists in between the passes.

Squires Publishing - Geoffrey of Monmouth Corrective Statement
These passages in Geoffrey of Monmouth and Malory describing Arthur’s invasion of Europe, which have been taken as invalidating the reliability of both authors; are now seen in a different light.
It is true that Geoffrey first wrote his account of Arthur before the medieval castle had been built, but that version of his history has disappeared.
Geoffrey probably produced the surviving version in 1145, adding Tintagel as a topical – and tactful – afterthought.

As the American critic Robert Archambeau has noted, Geoffrey Squires' poetry has few relations on either side of the Atlantic.
While his early writing bears all the hallmarks of modernism, his increasing preoccupation with consciousness and perception has led over time to the lyric abstraction of his later work, in particular the Untitled sequences.
Geoffrey Squires was born in 1942 and grew up in Co. Donegal.

Squires - new and used books
It traces the way this theme is developed throughout Luke-Acts, both through direct statements by the writer and through various associated means such as divine appearances, signs and wonders, the fulfilment of prophecy, and indications of fate as of necessity.
Dr Squires locates Luke's use of this theme in the context of the history-writing of the Hellenistic period, noting numerous passages in those works which illumine Luke's theological purposes.
His book shows how the notion of the plan of God is used by Luke as he writes to confirm his readers' faith, encouraging them to bear witness to this faith, and equipping them for the task of defending it.
