The Geohydrology Science Working Group is working together to identify potential geohydrologic studies (and associated societal benefits) that may be performed in an underground laboratory or observatory.
The Geohydrology Working group is working from the premise that a formal Geohydrologic Observatory and Laboratory will provide tangible scientific opportunities not available by other means, and that significant societal benefits may result.
Integral to scientific goals are proposed programs to foster education and training for future generations of scientists and teachers from K-12 to visiting researchers, focusing on those groups that have remained underrepresented throughout the 20th century.

Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences : MEng in Geological Sciences
Typical categories for the geohydrology option are porous media flow, geology, geochemistry and numerical modeling.
Alternatives to numerical modeling in the geohydrology option could be economics or biochemistry, for example.
The project topic can be drawn from a student's non-academic work experience, but would be carried out or further developed with advice from a Cornell faculty member selected by the student with expertise in the project area.

 Geohydrology Certificate Program
Geohydrology requires the multidisciplinary knowledge of groundwater hydrology, earth materials and geochemistry.
In response to this need, the Multidisciplinary Geohydrology certificate program offers a plan of study for graduate students, involving course work in the areas of groundwater hydrology, geochemistry, and earth materials.
The goal of the Geohydrology certificate program is to provide a broad and uniform background for students who are interested in specializing in this field.

Hydrogeology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hydrogeology (hydro- meaning water, and -geology meaning the study of rocks) is the part of hydrology that deals with the distribution and movement of groundwater in the soil and rocks of the Earth's crust (commonly in aquifers).
Some make the minor distinction between a hydrologist or engineer applying themselves to geology (geohydrology), and a geologist applying themselves to hydrology (hydrogeology).
Hydrogeology (like most earth sciences) is an interdisciplinary subject; it can be difficult to account fully for the chemical, physical, biological and even legal interactions between soil, water, nature and society.
