Johann Georg Adam Forster - LoveToKnow 1911
His father, Johann Reinhold Forster, a man of great scientific attainments but an intractable temper, was at that time pastor of the place; the family are said to have been of Scottish extraction.
In 1765 the elder Forster was commissioned by the empress Catherine to inspect the Russian colonies in the province of Saratov, which gave his son an opportunity of acquiring the Russian language and the elements of a scientific education.
The publication of this work was, however, impeded for some time by differences with the admiralty, during which Forster proceeded to the continent to obtain an appointment for his father as professor at Cassel, and found to his surprise that it was conferred upon himself.

 Seminar
The first part of the book traces the changing images of Forster and of his whole oeuvre from his contemporaries to the end of the 1980s, while the second part is a history of critical readings of individual works by Forster.
In Part One, Peitsch characterizes the images of Forster (whose engagement for the revolutions in France and Mainz made him a controversial figure) and of his oeuvre constructed by individual literary historians and biographers in the course of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Nonetheless, Part Two is highly valuable for Forster researchers, as is the book’s bibliography, since it combines and adds to the major items contained in the two existing comprehensive bibliographies on Forster research, that by Fiedler for the period up to 1970, and that by Klenke with a range from 1970 to 1993.

Forster accompanied Capt. James Cook on his second voyage around the world and published (1778) his observations on the trip.
His son, Georg Forster, 1754-94, was a naturalist, traveler, and author.
Georg's account of the trip was published in 1777, and although not so scholarly as Johann's account, Georg's work established a new genre of travel books presenting scientific information in a fine literary style.

I changed it back, as you provided no reference for the change and according to de:Johann Reinhold Forster, Forster's father was pastor in Wislina (Hochzeit), not Mokry Dwor.
For the article Johann Reinhold Forster, we should certainly mention his confession in detail.
I'm starting to believe that you are right about "reformed", and my statement above about Wislina is also not quite true: The ADB article on Georg Forster mentions that JR was pastor in Nassenhuben, but that his house stood just across the county border in Hochzeit (pl Wislina).
