		Georg Henrik von Wright (pronounced, roughly, vrikt) (June 14, 1916 â“ June 16, 2003) was a Finnish philosopher, who succeeded Ludwig Wittgenstein as professor at the University of Cambridge.
		Von Wright studied under C.D. Broad, but he did not meet John Maynard Keynes, whose work A Treatise on Probability he had read in order to learn English.
		Von Wright did not reject the long-term perspective that the whole human race as a distinct species is falling into destruction.

		He was influenced by the philosopher Oswald Spengler (German philosopher who argued that cultures grow and decay in cycles (1880-1936)) and found out later in his life that Wittgenstein also had read Spengler's work, and (to the astonishment of von Wright) liked it as well.
