George (often written george, no capitals and in italics) is a rock band from Brisbane, Australia.
The band consists of Katie Noonan on vocals and keyboards, her brother Tyrone Noonan on vocals, guitar and keyboards, Geoff Green on drums and percussion, Paulie Bromley on bass and Nick Stewart on acoustic and electric guitar.
George released the album Unity in February 2004 and it debuted at number 5 in the Australian album chart of 1 March 2004.

George Band had to take a year out from studying at Cambridge University to go on the 1953 expedition.
But then George Lowe, who was on the front of the rope with Hilary and Tenzing behind him, waved his thumbs up and pointed to the summit, and we realised they had succeeded.
George Band lived off the proceeds from lecturing about the ascent for four years.

Jimmy George was a Canadian folk rock band, who blended Celtic folk with rock influences in a manner similar to Spirit of the West and Great Big Sea.
Formed in Ottawa in 1991, the band consisted of vocalist and guitarist J. Todd, electric guitarist Steve Donnelly, bassist George Jennings, Joel Carlson on mandolin, Jeff Kerr on banjo, Mickey Vallee on accordion, and Tom Werbowetski on drums.
The band played for many years as the house band at the tiny Duke of Somerset every Sunday night regailing the crownd in their music.

GEORGE BAND, born in Taiwan in 1929, is British and was educated at Eltham College, Cambridge and London Universities.
At the age of 23, he was the youngest member to be chosen for the first successful Everest Expedition in 1953 led by Colonel John Hunt (later Lord Hunt) when Hillary and Tenzing reached the summit on 29th May just before the Coronation.
George and his wife, Susan, live in Hampshire and they have three grown up children and five grandchildren.

Our appearance as opening act for Chicago's great soul singer Otis Clay and his band garnered high praise from reviewer David Malachowski of the Albany Times Union (a fantastic guitarist in his own right- former Shania Twain bandleader currently with Savoy Brown) and Michael Hochanadel of the Schenectady Gazette.
