The recording of their album continued, followed by a short tour of Scandinavia, where the band played smaller gigs and were able to rehearse their sound and prepare it for bigger audiences in America and England.
Bizarre rumors both fueled and were fueled by the controversy, among them that the girl was Baker's illegitimate daughter or, alternatively, was a groupie kept as a slave by the band.
Ginger Bakers Air Force was a Jazz-rock fusion band comprised of Baker, Graham Bond on saxophone, jazz drummer Phil Seaman, Chris Wood and Harold McNair on saxaphone and flute, Denny Laine on guitar and vocals.

G&S Discography: Artist Profile - George Baker
Nowadays few singers of repute would consent to any name but their own being placed on a record label, but in 1906 this was as harmless a trick as is the appearance to-day of a "lunch edition" of an evening newspaper at 10 o'clock in the morning!
Recording makes cowards of many of us, and although the regular members of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company must know their parts inside out, Darrell Fancourt and poor Bertha Lewis were the only two who dared record without their vocal scores.
If a record did not please her she would sing it again, but she was not exactly the soul of patience and if she decided that a record was suitable nothing on earth would induce her to repeat the song, even if suggestions for improvements were obviously good ones.

Baker was favored for his superb diction, which was perfectly suited to the then-primitive recording technology.
It is sixty years since he made his first record and only seven since he made his last, and even his 1962 Gilbert and Sullivan recording did not end his active career as a singer.
Baker made records and I doubt whether even the singer himself is quite sure that this is the full total.

CD Review of Chet Baker - Career 1952-1988 on Shout! Factory @ jazzreview.com
Chet Baker the vocalist was at his best on tunes like the cool and sexy “Let’s Get Lost” and the wry “Everything Happens to Me,” a song that bemoans a series of unfortunate events that culminate in falling in love -- two absolutely perfectly delivered tunes.
Though the booklet notes pose the theory that Baker kept tight reigns on his vocal range due to a fear of falling out of tune, he still retained the ability to be thoroughly emotive and commanding of his instrument.
Baker was not the lightweight that some have accused him of being.

Singer recorded rocking R&B workouts for Savoy into 1956 (the cuisine motif resulting in helpings of "Neck Bones," "Rice and Red Beans," and "Hot Bread"), working with sidemen including pianists Wynton Kelly and George Rhodes, guitarist Mickey Baker, bassist Walter Page, and drummer Panama Francis.
Singer relocated to Paris in 1965, winning over European audiences with his hearty blowing and engaging in quite a bit of session work with visiting blues and jazz luminaries.

Chet Baker had a distinctive trumpet style that even Miles admired, but many may not know he was also quite accomplished as a singer.
Judging by the cover (Baker’s good looks were always prominently featured on his releases), the A&R people at Riverside saw an opportunity to market Baker as a romantic crooner along the lines of Frank Sinatra or Nat King Cole.
Few singers also double on a horn, but Baker shows how successfully it could be done, blowing and singing both complementing each other as part of a compelling conception.

Moe Bandy - Pandora Internet Radio
Moe Bandy was one of the most popular country singers of the 1970s, turning out a series of hits in the latter half of the decade that made many fans and critics believe he was one of the great honky tonk singers.
In fact, Bandy's grandfather worked with Rodgers on the railroad, so it's no surprise that the singer first fell in love with country music through the Jimmie Rodgers records that were around his house, as well as the Hank Williams albums.
His theater has been more popular than his records in the '90s and '00s, but for a time in the late '70s and early '80s he was one of the most popular and exciting singers recording.

Anita Baker is a legendary vocal embellisher; she can hold the end of a line and bend that final syllable through several notes in her trademark smokey alto, thus giving the lyric an extra emotional twist.
Unfortunately, Baker succumbs to that temptation on her new album, Rhythm of Love, which is so embellished with slides, moans and trills it's often difficult to find the songs underneath it all.
And "It's Been You" could have definitely been left off altogether; even though Baker gives the track her usual, charming vocal, the composition is so close to the realm of "Rapture" that it sounds like she's merely trying to recapture that album's sound and success, something a singer of her stature obviously need not do.

George Harrison was the Beatle who most immediately benefited from the band's breakup.
When it came time to record his first proper solo album, he released an album of electronic noise called Wonderwall in 1968, he had such a backlog of material it yielded a double album with a third bonus disk.
Most of the songs were written while the Beatles were still existing, and George was writing so many great songs during the final years of the 1960's that, when the Beales finally folded in early 1970, he had songs enough for a double album.
