Bell became the first player in the major leagues to hit 3 HR on opening day in 1988, but the rest of the year was not up to his standard of the past few years, as he had some conflicts with Blue Jays manager Jimy Williams.
George Bell is currently enshrined in the upper deck of the Rogers Centre Level of Excellence, devoted to players and personnel who have made a significant impact as members of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Centiles allow you to compare a player's salary to that of his cohorts.
A glut of players will be making the minimum and so it is unfair to represent some of these players within the range of 80 to 100 when they all earn the same.
The true formula of the centile is to count the number of players with a posted salary during the season and divide by 100.
