George Bonnor was a giant of a man standing at 6 feet 6 inches tall, his nicknames included 'The Australia Giant or Hercules'.
Bonnor toured in successive tours to England from 1880 to 1888.
One interesting example of his ability to strike the ball with such ferocity occurred in the first Test at The Oval in 1880.

BONNOR, GEORGE JOHN (1855-1912), cricketer, was born on 25 February 1855 at Bathurst, New South Wales, son of George Bonnor, produce merchant, and his wife Sarah Ann, née Holmes.
He had a magnificent physique, standing six feet six inches (198 cm) and weighing seventeen stone (108 kg); with his golden hair and flowing beard, he was often referred to as a reincarnation of the Viking gods.
In Test matches Bonnor scored 512 runs at an average of 16 with a highest score of 128; a typical reference to this innings was that 'the big man slogged of course'.

George Nathanial Francis (West Indies) lbw Bradman 27, 1st Test, ; Adelaide, 1930 and the great Walter Hammond (England) bowled Bradman 85,  3rd Test, Adelaide, 1933 during the infamous 'Bodyline' series.
The very first was George Bonnor who was dismissed for 87 in the Sydney test against England in 1883.
It was Bonnor's second highest score in 17 tests, so could hardly be considered unlucky.
