George Boon(e) III --George, the father of Squire Boone, was born in 1666 at Stoak, near Exeter, England and died in 1744 in Pennsylvania, PA. A weaver by trade, George married Mary Milton Maugridge (b.1669 in Bradnich, England and died Feb. 2, 1740 in Berks Co., PA) and began to raise a number of children.
The Boones of NC, TN and KY are of Scotch-Irish descent.
The parents of Mary Maugridge Boone were John Maugridge (b.1630) and Mary Milton (b.ca 1647).

Squire Boone immigrated to Pennsylvania in early 1713 along with his older siblings George Boone and Sarah Boone.
Boone explored much of Kentucky and Tennessee, which at the time were frontier hinterlands of the colonies almost unsettled by Europeans, and became instrumental in establishing the Wilderness Road over the Appalachians thru the Cumberland Gap into Kentucky.
Boone spent the winter of 1769‑70 in a cave, on the banks of the Shawanee River, in Mercer County, Kentucky.

George Boone, the founder of Boone's Station and the brother of Daniel Boone, was a Baptist preacher, and his station was for many years the leading center of trade in the county.
Bedinger's branch on Muddy creek was named in honor of Maj. George M. Bedinger, who was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, a member of John Holder's company at Boonesborough, and a member of Congress in 1803.
The local lawyers who practiced were Martin D. Hardin, George Walker, Jeremiah Shropshire, and the non-resident lawyers were George M. Bibb, William McDowell, Robert Wickliffe, William T. Barry and Thomas Todd.
