George Cohen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
George Reginald Cohen MBE (born 22 October 1939, Kensington, London) was the right back for England in the side which won the 1966 World Cup.
Cohen was an immaculate performer in Ramsey's revolutionary team which played without conventional wide men, allowing for extra strength in midfield and relying on young, stamina-based players like Martin Peters and Alan Ball to drift from centre to flank and back again as required.
Cohen was awarded the MBE in 2000, along with four team-mates from 1966 after a campaign from sections of the media who were surprised that the quintet had never been officially recognised for their part in England's success.

Worldandnation: Cohen, critical of Bush, invites him to Pentagon briefing
Bush campaign spokeswoman Mindy Tucker said Cohen's implication that the GOP candidate might be ill-informed on security ignores the quality of his advisers.
Cohen said Bush's proposals contained "internal inconsistencies." Building a larger missile defense than the administration's limited one, Cohen added, would force the Russians and other nations, like China, to respond with increases in their offensive nuclear arsenals, making negotiated reductions far less likely.
While it is common for a president-elect to receive high-level national security briefings as part of the transition to the White House, it is unusual to extend such an early invitation to a presidential candidate from the party out of power, especially one who has not yet received his party's formal nomination.
