Topic: George E Stone

George Stone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
George Stone (1708-19 December 1764) was the Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh (Primate of All Ireland) from 1747 to his death.
Andrew's connections with George II made him able to promote the preferment of his brother George, who went to Ireland as chaplain to Lionel Sackville, 1st Duke of Dorset when that nobleman became Lord Lieutenant of Ireland in 1731.
Archbishop Stone, who never married, was a man of remarkably handsome appearance; and his manners were "eminently seductive and insinuating." Richard Cumberland, who was struck by the "Polish magnificence" of the primate, speaks in the highest terms of his courage, tact, and qualities as a popular leader.

Stone's most popular role of the 1940s was as "the Runt" in Columbia's Boston Blackie series.
Though he was totally blind by the mid-'50s, Stone's show business friends, aware of the actor's precarious financial state, saw to it that he got TV and film work, even if it meant that his co-stars had to literally lead him by the hand around the set.
No one was kinder to George E. Stone than the cast and crew of the Perry Mason TV series, in which Stone was given prominent billing as the Court Clerk, a part that required nothing more of him than sitting silently at a desk and occasionally holding a Bible before a witness.

And of course Some Like It Hot features the double act of lovely Jack Lemmon and the inimitable Joe E. Brown, playing the desiccated millionaire in love with him - in or out of drag.

Trees and Vines at Digging Dog | Clematis | Hydrangea | Schizophragma
Vines are amazing in their ability to lend an air of maturity to the garden; trained on fence, arbor, pergola or house, they can frame a distant vista or intimate view.
Vines can be used to ‘ground’ any structure to the earth, and are perfect for harmonizing architectural forms with the environment; they can visually soften stone walls and fences, even camouflage an unsightly feature.
The four-tepaled, nodding golden yellow flowers will cascade over stone walls or be carried on mischievous stems to adjacent shrubs.
