George W. Greer is most remembered for Judicially ordering the death of a mentally handicapped blind woman with a speech impediment who was documented in sworn affidavit to feel pain, because she did not respond "productively" to her environment.
Judge George W. Greer suppressed discovery that could have lead to the indictment of the husband, Michael Schiavo, for attempted murder and battery, and was likely responsible for her present condition.
Judge George Greer dismissed a motion that could have resulted in the indictment of Michael Schiavo for the attempted murder of his wife, referring to it as "interesting." Hypokalemia (low serum potassium) is also caused by trauma (click here for the National Institute Of Health government research).

To hear Greer talk, he was the lone crusader of a long battle, where he upheld the rightful place of the battered judiciary against all the evil branches of government, and he alone is responsible for preserving the separation of powers.
Greer was awarded 2005 Jurist of the Year by the Florida Chapter American Board of Trial Advocates and President's Award from the Florida Public Defenders Association, and in September he was named 2005 Bay Area Champion of Justice by the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association.
Greer closed with a quote by Barney Frank that legislatures aren't equipped to make the decisions because they are not required to follow it (although they make it) and they are persuaded by public opinion, which is anarchy.

George Greer is a 63-year-old probate judge of the circuit that covers Pinellas and Pasco Counties west of Tampa Bay.
Greer became politically active in Pinellas County, and ran for Pinellas County Commissioner in 1984 at age 46, challenging the County Commission’s lone Democrat, because Greer opposed Pinellas County’s plan to build a domed stadium to attract a major league baseball team.
Greer became well-known as a County Commissioner with close relations to powerful developers in Pinellas County during his eight years as a County Commissioner from the beginning of 1985 when he took office (he was elected unopposed to the Commission in 1988) until he left the Commission for his current judgeship in early 1993.

Seems to me, too many of Judge George Greer's mistakes are found AFTER his rulings...he seems to have a problem with "proof" or "evidence".
Ends up that the family contested the will in Judge Greers court...however, Judge George Greer declared the criminal records of Welke and notary Fred Long irrelevant to the case, because they pleaded no contest and never were formally adjudicated guilty.
