The mayor of the municipality is Willem Petrus Schonken of the DA Party.
In the municipality the population is spread out with 27.7% under the age of 15, 15.3% from 15 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 18.6% from 45 to 64, and 8.3% who are 65 years of age or older.
