George Perez was born on June 9, 1954 in New York City to Puerto Rican parents.
George’s parents got steady jobs at factories and the family was eventually able to move to Flushing, Queens- where the young Perez started his obsession with comic books.
George generally preferred to illustrate superhero comics and he has always been especially good at doing action scenes.

Perez would remain with The Titans for over four years and followed that stint (with Wolfman) with the hugely successful limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths (recently reprinted in a deluxe hardcover edition) which allowed George to draw practically every character in the DC Universe at the time.
Perez is hard at work on his creator-owned Crimson Plague series, due to be relaunched in the summer of 2000.

Going back even further, for Perez’s relatively new fans, it was somewhat eyebrow raising to read in the solicitation for Storyteller that when he began his career in comics, he didn’t knock on the door of Marvel and was shown the golden chair.
Perez eventually moved on to Fantastic Four, initially filling in for Rich Buckler who wasn’t going to be able to nail a tight deadline on an Annual, and my then, Perez was well on his way to forging his legend and legacy.
So yes, George Perez is, in fact, one among the small handful of Energizer bunnies in the comic industry, and though he figures Storyteller will be the last retrospective book he participates in for now, it won’t be the last.

I'd purchased Avengers Visionaries: George Perez largely because it reprinted many of issues that came out when I was heavily into comic collecting years and years ago.
Avengers Visionaries: George Perez is good, but it's even better if you have Avengers: Ultron Unlimited, so you can see the progress of the team, and also the artist.
The detail and care that George Perez puts into his work is awesome and a lot of the younger artists can learn a lot about characterization from this book.

On the final day of the Pittsburgh Comicon, artist to the stars George Perez hosted a panel that featured updates on the up and coming new series from DC Comics, “The Brave and the Bold.” Initially, Perez was to be joined by series writer Mark Waid, but, unfortunately, Waid was unable to attend the convention.
Perez may find himself working on “Legion of Super-Heroes,” another Mark Waid title, following his year’s turn at “Brave and the Bold.” Perez said that, of all the books he’s done, he’s never had a shot at working on The Legion, and he’s hoping to rectify that error from his resume.
Perez explained that, before the plug was pulled on the project, he had completed about 75 pages of artwork out of the planned 125 pages.

I bought it and watched it...it focus is George drawing in his studio...which is neat, but you can't really see all that well what the hell he is drawing.
George is filmed in his studio as he discusses pieces of art he has hanging on his wall.
