Encyclopedia: Georgia State Route 316   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-10)
Georgia 316 begins at Interstate 85 exit 106, near Lawrenceville, passes through Bethlehem, Georgia and Statham, Georgia and ends at the Georgia State Route 10 Loop near Athens.
The only route signage to be found on county roads are the county route numbers on street name signs or the distinct green panel generally on the back of stop signs with the county road number on it.
The general rule is that this is a mileage swap with a less important route where the old alignment of a relocated highway is turned over to local control in place of the new route, or the route is used as a pawn for another route added in another part of Georgia.
