Starring: Robbie Coltrane, Barbara Flynn, Christopher Eccleston, Lorcan Cranitch, Geraldine Somerville and Kieran O'Brien with Adrian Dunbar, Kika Markham and John Grillo.
While the show is very much Robbie Coltrane's, and the major support the two females vying for his attention (Barbara Flynn and Geraldine Somerville), Chris heads part of a superb ensemble cast, his ambitious Bilborough already putting aside ethics in favour of results, and clashing with Coltrane's arrogant Fitz.
Tracing the line of his self-imposed misery through the story of a man slashing women on trains, then perhaps there's a lack of a real protagonist to clash intellectually or viscerally with Coltrane in this opening story, but this is still a fine introduction to arguably the finest television series of the 1990s.

Bilborough -- never a fan of the arrogant buffoon Dr. Fitzgerald -- dismisses him from the case and he's forced to appeal to Detective Sergeant Penhaligan (Geraldine Somerville), a young redhead whose slim figure and cultivated silence makes her an odd match for the obese motor-mouthing Fitz and unlikely successor to his alienated wife.
Penhaligan is often the third person in the room during the "interviews", a silent witness who becomes the ghost of the dead girls as Fitz goes about his psychic reconstructions.

According to one fan site, a representative of Warner Bros. immediately shot this rumor down as soon as it came to light.
According to the studio, casting is not yet underway on the Order of the Phoenix movie, and Geraldine Somerville, who has played the role of Lily Potter in past Harry Potter movies, is still cast in that part.
Also, if perhaps a younger Lily Potter (Lily Evans) remains in the script, it is most likely that the actress hired to play her will be British, just as every other cast member in the Harry Potter movies so far whose character is British.
