Mathematics and the Language of Nature - F. David Peat   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
Mathematics has a beauty all its own and there is, for the mathematician, an aesthetic joy that comes from solving an important problem, no matter what value society may place on this activity.
Mathematics may indeed reflect the operations of the brain, but both brain and mind are far richer in their nature than is suggested by any structure of algorithms and logical operations.
Mathematics is effective when it becomes a hymn to this underlying order of consciousness and the universe, and when it expresses something of the truth inherent in nature.

Mathematics is the pathway to all knowledge and progress; it is the law of dimension through which everything comes into manifest form and therefore is the Principle of Life.
Mathematics is the infallible principle which enables science to measure everything according to its vibration, to segregate and to recorrelate the elements of nature, and thus to create new forms of matter.
No matter how you figure, mathematics is included--even the quantity and density of the air you breathe, your degree of sight, and the amount of your appetite, or capacity for liquids, the extent of or degree of your smell and taste.

Mouse Embryonic Germ Cells And Male Gametes Created In The Lab   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
The researchers used the same embryoid bodies that generated the embryonic germ cells, but this time, they grew the bodies for two to three weeks, allowing the germ cells to mature into male gametes that could be isolated in the lab.
The ability to make both embryonic germ cells and male gametes in the lab is unprecedented and has powerful implications for understanding how germ cells mature, and may suggest new approaches to infertility, says Geijsen.
"Germ cells are given the responsibility for perpetuating the species, and understanding how germ-cell formation goes awry may teach us about early developmental defects, as well as some forms of male infertility," he says.
