  Sugar Museum Berlin
Berlin was the scene of the most important events in the history of beet sugar: it was here, in 1747, that Andreas Sigismund Marggraf, the best known chemist of his time in the German-speaking area, discovered sugar in the mangelwurzel.
The initiator of the museum was Edmund Oskar von Lippmann, the doyen of the history of sciences and sugar.
The museum is supported by the sponsor group, Fördererkreis Zucker-Museum e.V. Members of the association sponsor the Sugar Museum by paying EUR 40,00 annually and in return they receive free entrance and are sent regular publications.
