 Germany
In 1936, German troops entered the demilitarised Rhineland, violating the Versailles Treaty, in an attempt to rebuild national self-esteem.
That year, the German Communist Party was established, and on January 1919 the German Workers Party, later known as the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP).
While the German language and the feeling of "Germanhood" go back more than a thousand years, the state now known as Germany was unified as a modern nation-state only in 1871, when the German Empire, dominated by the Kingdom of Prussia, was forged.

An Army Surplus-The NVA's Heritage, BICC Brief 3, June 1995
The fall of the Berlin wall and the succeeding German reunification left the Federal Republic of Germany's Bundeswehr with an additional, inherited army, the former East German National Peoples Army (NVA).
Since not all these limits were met prior to the cascading, this process could led to substantial increases in national holdings in some cases.
The personnel, infra-structure, weapons, ammunition and all other types of equipment of the former East German armed forces-supplemented by weaponry former-ly owned by the East German Intelligence and internal Security Services (Stasi), the border troops and other armed units-ended up under Bundeswehr ownership, custody and responsibility.

German National Identity: Patriotism and Stigma
By contrast, the people who self-identified as patriotic Germans were, ironically, most likely to show signs of nationalism—as indicated by endorsement of the military, national anthem, and ethnocentrism— rather than benign patriotism.
The intertwined issues of German national identity and patriotism are not just matter for idle contemplation: divergent approaches to these controversial topics have shaped aspects of Germans’ lives ranging from the government’s official immigration policies to the everyday experiences of Germans abroad, from Germany’s position in the international community to German schoolchildren’s history lessons.
The present study explores the singular topography of German national identity and patriotism with an appreciation of the specific situations or stigmas that Germans may encounter and is an attempt to interpret some of these findings in a more global framework.

 Bavaria - nationalanthems.info
When the German anthem became official in 1952, the Bavarian Parliament decided unanimously that the German National Anthem and the Bavarian Anthem should be played by Radio Bavaria and taught at school together.
This song spread fast all over the country and was soon known by most people.
The anthem originally had lyrics praising the king of Bavaria in the third verse, this was omitted in 1918 and in 1946 the Bavarian poet Josef Marai Lutz wrote a new stanza (which is now unofficially used).

A crumbled and dismayed nation rose from the ashes on the back of Hitler like a phoenix, pain and injustice had been the anthem of the German people untill the day when Hitler delivered his message to the poeple and they cheared "Hail Hitler".
It is a look at the German National Anthem, it compares it to the British and French Anthems and is quite an eye opener and raises some fair points that most anti-whites would see as being the anthem of evil.
But it only made me think, how can you call the whole German nation evil, the support for Hier Hitler was overwhelming if not unaminous by mid 1930's.

 Wikipedia: Dietsch
Another reason 'Diets' is no longer used in modern Dutch is that the term was abused by 20th century fascists of the NSB and other nationalists, usually in the terms 'Diets', 'Nederdiets', or 'Nederduits' to refer to the shared heritage of the Dutch and German people.
A historical remnant of the original meaning of 'Duits' to refer the the people of the Netherlands, rather than the people of Germany, can still be seen in first line of the Dutch National anthem :
'Duits' is still used in Dutch to refer to the German people and language, but the word 'diets', as well as the use of 'Duits' to refer to the Dutch people and language has fallen out of use.
