Gerry Hannah (also known as Gerry Useless) is the bass players for the punk rock group The Subhumans and was also a member of the militant environmental group Direct Action also known as the Squamish Five and the (Vancouver Five).
Hannah was convicted of conspiracy to rob an armoured car and possession of a stolen weapon, for which he received a ten year jail sentence.
Hannah was also a member of the Vancouver punk band, the Subhumans, from 1978 to 1981, and has reunited with his ex-bandmates for a few shows and the '90's and for the official reunion in 2005.

Gerry Hannah, along with several close friends, was instrumental in forming the Vancouver punk scene in 1977.
With Gerry (as "Gerry Useless") on bass, the SUBHUMANS played the punk circuit throughout North America and released several records.
Gerry wrote such SUBHUMANS songs as the anti-sexist "Slave to My Dick" (included on the Let Them Eat Jellybeans compilation), and he initiated Rock Against Radiation, a large outdoor concert at which the SUBHUMANS, DOA, and other popular Vancouver bands shared the stage to protest nuclear power and weapons.

When you speak to the vice-principal you should ask her to have this teacher move into the 21th century and get assignments out there on the Internet where parents can double check what their kids should be doing.
What really counts now is that you (and the teacher and admnistrator) make this a positive experience for Hannah so she isn't scared to say something next time she is having trouble.

The Subhumans broke up in ’82, but Hannah (along with most of the original lineup) had quit the band a year before, with Hannah choosing instead to concentrate on political activism.
It was a radical commitment; the members of his group, "Direct Action," were responsible for the bombing of a hydroelectric substation on Vancouver Island and also of a plant near Toronto that manufactured parts for the cruise missile.
A few years later, Hannah and vocalist Brian Goble decided to test the waters by putting together a version of the Subhumans for a successful reunion tour in 1995.

Russell has the best lines in the film, calling Gerry "a morality-free zone" and pointing out that his advice will be unappreciated since it is based in reality.

Gerry dating a woman who worked as a production assistant on 300, the two of them going to NY together and then being seen at a LA airport leaving for Cabo, they were ALL created by the same Datalounge poster.
Said he was in a pic with Gerry and it turned out that the guy in the pic was Gerry's co-star in BandG.

The Subhumans have been resurrected before—a tour in ’95 featured founding members Brian “Wimpy Roy” Goble and Gerry “Useless” Hannah, and Goble launched another version of the group a few years after that—but this latest endeavour will be the closest the band can get to a full reunion.
The Subhumans will be performing at the Brickyard on July 1 and will also make an appearance at the Under the Volcano festival on August 7.
