Rabestein was born in Naumburg (Saale), Germany, in 1903.
In 1938 she began her training as a camp overseer in the Lichtenburg camp in Saxony along with Maria Mandel, Juana Bormann and Jane Bernigau.
She stayed in her post until the Red Army arrived in April, 1945.
