	DVD Review: Fly Away Home: Special Edition
		Paquin stars as 13 year-old Amy Alden, whose mother passes away in a car crash as the film opens in one of the few scenes in the movie that might be scary for the youngest viewers.
		Overall, "Fly Away Home" is a rare (these days, at least) movie that the whole family can enjoy, with a good message that's not too heavy-handed and performances that are splendid.
		It's terrific that the studio has decided to include this superb special feature for the DVD - it's a very educational and extremely informative piece that parents should play for their children after the film is finished.

		It's hard not to like a film where Hanks plays Hanks, and gets to be by himself for a good portion of the film with nothing but waves crashing on the soundtrack.

		Through lots of footage from the set and some interview snippets with crew members and Hanks, we get a basic history of how Wilson came to be and see many of the shots in which he was involved.
		DVDs don’t get much better either, as Cast Away combined superb picture and sound quality with a slew of extremely interesting extras; from the fine audio commentary to the more than two hours of documentaries and interviews, this set provides a vast amount of strong data about the movie.

		One of the more special features on this disc, and probably the most interesting of extras that any disc could include is a feature on Focusing on Technical effects (8:17).
		This is where you can marvel at just how good the special effects wizards of today are where they can transform and back lot car park into the pinacle of a mountain on an island and turn a daytime sea shot into a night time shot with a curious whale making it's presence felt.
		Not the greatest film ever made and probably a good indication of it's merits with Hanks getting his 4th nomination for best actor but not winning, Cast Away is a very good story of hope 'not' lost in the most lonliest of places.

		In a very unclear and probably intentionally confusing marketing move, this and all of the other "2-hour TV special" Little House DVDs being released separated are actually included on the Complete Season box sets being released by the same company.
		I purchased three of these "specials" before realizing that they were all 2-part episodes to be found on the complete season sets.
		Hands down, "I'll Be Waving as You Drive Away" is a classic in the "Little House on the Prairie" series and is something you'll definitely want to see if you're a fan of the show.

		In the case of Spirited away, I'm glad I did not know what I was getting myself into, otherwise I might not have come (and surprisingly, not for the reasons you likely assume).
		Upon investigating the theme park, things are obviously very "wrong" (at least to the little girl- her parents seem woefully oblivious) and as it gets closer to sunset, things just get worse.
		Some rather disturbing scenes of characters getting eaten alive (and some threats thereof) but even the eaten characters return unharmed later in the film.

		Though I had a fair amount of interest in seeing Fly Away Home, I was expecting it to be general kiddy fluff.

		"Fly Away Home" is such an important film, not only because a female protagonist breaks away from traditional bonds to find herself (no boy and his dog here), but because a self-centered man/father overcomes his weaknesses to find not only himself, but the person/daughter/child who defines his soul.
