QLC Message Boards - In over my head and getting down :(
My boss is leaving this coming week, too, and I'll have to run stuff in his stead for two weeks' worth of publications.
Here's my advice - if you have a project and you get stuck on one aspect of it, don't let yourself get too bogged down on that but try to find some other aspect of the project where you DO know what to do and can make some progress which boosts your confidence.
I trained myself on my current job and it took me 6 months to a year to get the hang of it and get into a groove (when it would have taken no more than a few months had I actually had any training).

My first two years were spent in northern Illinois, central Florida, and upstate New York, none of which are known for their bustling seaports.
My buddy Ski was driving, and we should have known how the day was going to turn out because we hadn't gone 5 miles before we hit a patch of ice and slid off into a ditch.
Learning from my mistake, instead of turning, Ski made his way down to my position by skiing across the face of the bowl, carefully sitting down, turning over in the snow, then skiing the other way.

My only qualm is that for a few hundred more dollars I could've gotten a digital SLR.
To me, this just screams "cheap!" Also, although most of the big 6 have been trying to get their cameras as small as possible, I find the smaller they are, the simpler the design and the less they offer.
My decision was based on 4 requirements; price, size, image quality and useability.

Brian Wilson: Gettin' In Over My Head (2004): Reviews
It's not so much that he's over his head as much as just past his prime, and though his love of creating music that aims to communicate a very simple and honest message is respectable, he's ultimately unconvincing and awkward with tepid melodies, gimmicky guest spots and subpar lead vocals.
The worst thing about Gettin' In Over My Head - far worse than the mediocre songs and the MOR guest appearances - is that it doesn't sound terribly happy.
Some wrong management seems to be around Brian- Smile, while having nice pieces was released(i got it too!- my son sent to to me for my birthday- he a Marine in Iraq-and you can listen to it- and it was never complete, which was why brian never released it.

Taiwan Risks Getting In Over Its Head   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-17)
Hence, U.S. arms sale policy toward Taiwan should be conceived and implemented as part of an overall strategy designed not only to deter but also to reassure both Beijing and Taipei and to reduce their emphasis on military instruments.
Such sales and related assistance, however, should also be structured to facilitate U.S. efforts to maintain a level of military and political leverage over Taiwan sufficient to discourage the island's leaders from pushing independence or indefinitely resisting political discussions with Beijing.
Although anathema to Taipei and previously rejected by Washington, it is perhaps time to consider such a dialogue in the context of political confidence-building measures directed at Beijing and Taipei.
