In 1986 Ghorwane recorded a number of songs amongst which "Massotcha" written by Zeca Alage, which spoke about the horror of war and the danger of the military to the people they meant to be protecting.
Ghorwane made the recordings of their second CD Kudumba in 1996 which was released in 1997 by Piranha.
Even though the war is over Ghorwane have not stopped their political and social criticism concerning developments in their country and the influence of the foreign countries and organizations in aid programs.

They had some interesting news to share; one of my most favorite Mozambican bands, Ghorwane, was going to be playing a small intimate venue here in town...
Just a few weeks ago Ghorwane played at the Freedom Festival concert with UB40 (Yes, they still live apparently) in front a monstrous crowd of about 60,000 people.
But normally they play at the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center for a few thousand.
