Tussock moth outbreaks are intense but spatially localized, and experiments and models show this is the result of interactions between the poorly mobile moths and their highly mobile parasitoids (mostly several species of tachinid fly).
In the present study, we extend previous models of the tussock moth and parasitoid interaction to include a slowly fluctuating carrying capacity caused by the nematode, ghost moth, and lupine interaction.
