Ralph Dumain: "The Autodidact Project": "Neopositivism: Linguistic Philosophy & Critical Rationalism" by Andras Gedo
This linguistic positivism caused him to make ordinary spoken language the subject of his "analysis," in order to drive out the ghost of "metaphysics"; in line with his first beginnings, he reduced himself to this method, completely rejecting philosophical problems, thus demonstrating in himself the crisis and deterioration of late-bourgeois philosophy.
Quine's philosophy tends to renew positivism; his views suffering from the limitations of linguistic philosophy (the problematic of society is mentioned only where Quine delves into the social nature of language) and the nebulous character of his questions kept his influence relatively limited.
The general crisis of bourgeois philosophy, however, made itself felt in the quickly disappearing self-confidence of the succession of philosophical fashions, in the tottering of schools that yesterday seemed to have conquered the world.

Ghost Dog - The Way of the Samurai: Cinephiles Movie Review
Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai finds humor by contrasting the Mafiosi culture with Ghost Dog's Samurai philosophy, and by depicting a world where characters speak different languages but say the same things.
These concepts are further explored through Ghost Dog's highly stylized movements, which are enhanced by the use of chronophotography to produce a stroboscopic effect (causing Ghost Dog's movements to appear "ghostly").
In one scene, a panoramic shot of the streets is dissolved with a close-up shot of Ghost Dog, stressing his point of view and blending it with movement.

This infusion of warrior philosophy is the gas in Ghost Dog's tank, and Jarmusch pumps it up for maximum octane throughout.
A movie as laconic as its hero, Ghost Dog is nonetheless diminished by its most un-Zen-like attachment to this underlying sentimentality.
In both Dead Man and Ghost Dog, we're goaded into dumb, slo-mo laughter as we see a bunch of people--mostly white guys with no redeemable facets--get mowed down.

 Dualism
In the philosophy of mind, dualism is the theory that the mental and the physical — or mind and body or mind and brain — are, in some sense, radically different kinds of thing.
In Ryle's deliberately abusive phrase, the mind, as the dualist conceives of it, is a ‘ghost in a machine’.
Plato's dualism is not, therefore, simply a doctrine in the philosophy of mind, but an integral part of his whole metaphysics.

2 The philosophy of Ghost in the Shell
Ghost in the Shell was one of the first anime movies to blend traditional cel animation with computer generated imagery, creating a visual expression that fits the subject matter and setting.
The setting of Ghost in the Shell is distinctively cyberpunk or postcyberpunk, similar to that of William Gibson's Sprawl trilogy and other post/cyberpunk works, though Shirow's work is focused more tightly on the ethical and philosophical ramifications of the widespread merging of humanity and technology.

On this reading, mind and body are defined in such a way that they have no common properties that might help explain how they interact, and it is therefore impossible to provide any account of precisely those features of human experience that this 'theory' was meant to explain.

 The Weird Review: Mrs. Molesworth
Molesworth's philosophy on the subject is well expressed in the words of one of the characters from her tale "Unexplained." Genuine ghosts "appear to people who never knew them, who take no interest in them...and then they have nothing to say...it is all purposeless".
The tale is attributed to Molesworth's son Bevil, but, evidently, the editor's feeling is that the story has been a collaborative work & in fact the style, in spite of the exotic background, strongly resembles that of the mother's latest ghost stories.
For the first time all Molesworth's ghostly tales are gathered in a single volume by the unknown (to me) british imprint Side Real Press.

This opposition can also be thought of as the structure of the two readings of the genitive "specters of Marx": the first is the ghost named Marx (the philosophical inheritance), the second the ghost summoned by him (the inheritance of history).
Again, the possession of an uncannily physical body is a characteristic of ghosts, of the specter in contrast to the purely ideal spirit.
It begins in the first chapter with the history of philosophy, then moves in the second and third into the philosophy of history; in the final two chapters, the two are staged together as the politics of haunting.

Science Fair Projects - Gilbert Ryle
Gilbert Ryle (1900–1976), philosopher, was a representative of the generation of British ordinary language philosophers influenced by Wittgenstein's insights into language, and is principally known for his critique of Cartesian dualism, for which he coined the phrase "the ghost in the machine ".
It is not that there is no ghostthe language of mind, Ryle asserts, is very important in describing the things we do and why we do them — it is that humans are not analogous to machines in the first place and do not need a "hidden" principal to explain their supra-mechanical capacities.
A capable linguist, he was recruited to intelligence work during World War II, after which he became Wayneflete Professor of Metaphysical Philosophy at Oxford, and published his principal work, "The Concept of Mind" in 1949.

 Hamlet
He knows the skeptical philosophy of Montaigne as well as the Bible, and he is less suited to a revenger's outing than a medieval prince like Hal/Henry V. Part of the conflict between the ghost and the prince is that between the medieval code of blood ties and the Renaissance sense of the self.
Based on the Historicæ Danicæ of Saxo Grammaticus, as retold in the Historique tragiques of Belleforest (where Amleth goes to England, marries the king's daughter, and returns triumphantly to Denmark), this -Ur-Hamlet featured a ghost crying for revenge and a duty-bound son.
Its central concern is certainly Hamlet's decision to revenge the murder of his father, King Hamlet.
