Giant Kin are an offshoot of the Ogre race, they are the "ugly runts".
Many Giant Kin found their ways into human society, where they found themselves shunned (nothing new), but respected more or less, for their strength and size.
Now the Giant Kin have settled in the lands beyond the wall and their trade ships sail from the port Taaken-Dar to the Elven and human lands.

Incidentally, I did see a couple of Mini Giants being driven around on the stunt track at RCX 2004, and while they were a bit bouncy, it wasn't distractingly obvious.
Mini Giant designers were faced with an impossible mission when constrained by the need to use a standard-sized servo in such a tiny overall package.
Since I was reviewing the Mini Giant, I wanted to get and communicate impressions of the box stock vehicle, the same truck any potential buyer would be considering sinking some cash into.

The Fire Giant Forgepriest's piecemeal plate armor lacks the reddish tint of Snurre and Co., but is festooned with a number of light, golden accents and adornments (many of which, as might be expected, have a flame motif), the most interesting of which is the flaming anvil device on his left poleyn (kneepad).

Created by some magick far in the past, the race of half-giants were the result of special cross-breeding of humans and the giants rumored to inhabit the islands in the Sea of Eternal Dust.
Half-giants appear much like a human, but with highly exaggerated features, and skin tones which sometimes go into the reds.
From their giant kin, half-giants have inherited incredible size and strength, and their endurance is matched only by muls and sturdy dwarves.
