		The predecessor of the Gibraltar Football Association (“the GFA”) was founded on the Rock in 1891 under the name of the Gibraltar Civilian Football Association; which name was changed to the present one in 1895 in order to enable civilian and military te

		This cup, as the name suggests, was donated to the Association by the Merchants of Gibraltar to be played on an annual basis by teams form the local civilian community who registered with the Association.
