Lillye was born September 26, 1912 in Gibson County near Trenton, Tennessee, the daughter of Jena C. and Lillye Dodson Washburn.
It is bordered on the north by Carroll County and Benton County, on the west by Henderson County, on the south by Hardin County, and on the east by the Tennessee River.
This is a transcription of the 1845 petition by the citizens of Perry County to divide the county using the Tennessee River as the western boundary for Perry County thus creating a new county west of the river - Decatur County.

Gibson County was the first rural county in West Tennessee to have enhanced 911 System which went on line in July 1989, enhanced 911 provides the dispatcher with important information about the location the call is coming from.
The Gibson County Communications Center was established in 1968 as a private company with a radio license to operate on police radio frequencies to provide dispatch services for local law enforcement and emergency services, this was the first of its kind in the nation.
The company was sold in 1989 to the Gibson County E-911 Emergency Communications District.

George is known to have lived in Davidson County, Tennessee until 1800 when he and his siblings sold the land they had inherited from their father to local land speculators who turned around and sold them land in what was then Williamson County.
The only census record for Nancy is that for Williamson County, Tennessee in 1820 which indicates she was born in 1775 or later.
Of the Gentrys that settled in the area that was to eventually become the State of Tennessee, Nicholas Gentry of South Carolina was a close contender for first with Robert Gentry of Albemarle County, Virginia, and his family.
